The Citys annual get-together celebration, Pioneer Day, will be held on on Sunday, August 12th, at Pioneer Memorial Park. The festivities will begin with a parade at 11:00 a.m. and will be jam-packed with fun!
Parade at 11:00 a.m. - The fun will kick off with a parade beginning at Newport Fire Hall, 155 20th Street. The parade will make its way down 2nd Avenue to 17th Street where it will go to 4th Avenue and make its way to Pioneer Park.
Live Music from 12:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Raffle Drawing at 2:30 p.m. - The raffle drawing will take place at 2:30 p.m.
There will be food, vendors, games, bingo, inflatables, a car show, and the St. Paul Park-Newport Lions Club's beer and wine tent! All you can eat corn on the cob will be available with the purchase of a Pioneer Day button, which will be available at Newport City Hall, the Library and Community Center and at various local businesses in July. You may purchase a button for $3, or 4 for $10. The buttons are also used for the raffle drawing. Individuals do not need to be present for the raffle drawing as winning numbers will be placed on the City's website, Facebook page, and Channel 18.
