Stiftungsfest, "A Founders Day Celebration" and Minnesota's oldest celebration, is held the last full weekend in August in Willkommen Park, Norwood Young America, Minnesota.

Highlights include old time and German music under The Big Tent... Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Main Street will be busy with a huge Arts & Crafts Show on Saturday beginning at 9:00 a.m. Sunday morning brings a free Car Show .

A variety of ethnic food will be available including roast beef dinners and the famous hamburgers served in the Pavilion, brats and kraut, ice cream, Schell's 1919 root beer and German beer served in the Beer Garden and under The Big Tent.

A men's and women's Softball Tournament will be going on all weekend at the park with teams from the surrounding areas. We have bingo on Saturday & Sunday with cash ($) prizes.

Stiftungsfest is a festival celebration of the founding of the town. In English it would be called "Founder's Festival". Every summer there are a number of towns in Minnesota originally settled by German speaking people who celebrate festivals. The music festival in Norwood Young America known as "Stiftungsfest" is almost as old as the town itself. It was introduced to the community by the Men's Chorus, an organization that played a very important part in the development of Norwood Young America.
