Long Lake Area Art Show is a successful art show, for those who do not know the history: the Long Lake AreaArt Show grew out of the Gallery Maple Plain which was a cooperative art gallery in Maple Plain which closed in 2009. Shakun Maheshwari and Maggie Merkow decided to have an art crawl in Long Lake/Orono area in 2010. Originally the art show was a crawl where people went to artists studios and local businesses to look at the art. Now in its fifth year the shows home is the Orono High School cafeteria, which is a beautiful light space with plenty of room for 40 artists. Our mission is to support local artists and provide a venue for them to display and sell their art and to provide the community with a fun event. We hope to attract new artists and support the artists who come back year after year.
