Autumn in Ely -- a season of discovery in which to experience blue skies, crisp clean air, the wisps of wood smoke and Mother Natures brilliant display as the leaves take on melting hues of green, yellow, orange and red.

Autumn in Ely also brings the Harvest Moon Festival, which takes place the first weekend after Labor Day in Whiteside Park. This is a three day festival filled with arts and crafts, food, live entertainment and activities to share with family and friends of all ages. Over 10,000 people join us to enjoy the beautiful fall weather and the fun and activities of this event.

Shop a delightful mix of original art and crafts from over 125 local and regional artists and craftsmen. Select from functional and decorative pottery, hand turned wooden bowls, Native American art and bead work, paintings, leather and lots more! Enjoy demonstrations by some of the craftsman, an interactive naturalist's program for children and adults alike, book signing by local authors and musical storytelling for children. Listen to the music of local performers as you weave through the booths to find that perfect piece for your home or that unique gift for a loved one.

Feast your eyes on a delightful combination of orange pumpkins, purple chrysanthemums, yellow corn, juicy red tomatoes, and tasty artisan breads from the Farm Market. Tempt your palette with a blueberry pancake breakfast, a walleye dinner on a bed of local wild rice, Italian sausage piled high with sauted onions and peppers, barbecued pork sandwiches, chili and more. Top it off with a cup of latte and a piece of blueberry pie made fresh the day before the festival.

It is a beautiful time of the year to make it a weekend of fun.
