Pioneer Day is the City's annual get together and will take place on Sunday, August 12, 2012, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Pioneer Memorial Park. The day is a hometown affair providing a day of family oriented fun. The fun will kick off with a parade beginning at Newport Fire Hall #1, located at 155 20th Street, at 11:00 a.m., and will make its way down 4th Avenue.
All you can eat corn on the cob will be available with the purchase of a Pioneer Day button, which will be available at Newport City Hall, as well as various local businesses in late June. Buttons may be purchased for $3 each, or four buttons for $10.
There will be food, vendors, and the St. Paul Park-Newport Lion's Club beer tent will be at the park all day. There will be games, crafts, and inflatables for children to enjoy.
