Description: Are you serious about wine?  Registration is NOW OPEN for the Wine Professional Certificate at Saint Paul College (a member of the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities MnSCU)! In one semester, and only one night at week on campus, you can earn this web-enhanced certificate - preparing you for careers in the restaurant/hospitality industry, wine distribution, wholesale/retail wine trade, and more!
This five course, 9-credit program is an intensive, professional development program that covers the fundamentals of sensory evaluation of wine, winemaking techniques, viticulture, pairing wine with food, professional service skills (including alcohol server training), and wine marketing strategies (graduate projects include wine list and winemakers dinner menu to show prospective employers what you know!).
Participate in the Monday evening lab aspect (wine tasting, food pairing, professional service), and complete the lecture/academic content (study questions and quizzes) with our on-line learning platform.  The program is limited to 24 attendees each semester, so early registration is critical.
Former graduates have also been able to transfer the 9 credits to a 4-year college to apply to a bachelors degree.  Graduates should also be prepared to take the Culinary Institute of Americas entry level Certified Wine Professional (CWP) exam - aligning you with their international reputation.
